It is worth mentioning the so-called bird houses reminiscent of bird nests high on the wall or the permanent exhibition of the Museum of Devils in the Picart Tower and in the castle underground of the Manor court. In Úštěk you will find preserved late Gothic buildings - such as the Church of St. Peter and Paul and the newly renovated Jewish synagogue. The local gabled houses and the castle, which is a slightly hidden behind the town hall, are also interesting.
Úštěk is a popular destination for filmmakers, and in the past films such as Kolja and Rebels were made here. The city is also an excellent starting point for trips to the surrounding area, which are beautiful to say the least. It is located on the border of two PLAs, the PLA Central Bohemian Uplands and the PLA Kokořínsko – Mácha´s region. From Úštěk you can go on a trip to the nearby castle Helfenburk (also called Hrádek), to Calvary in Ostrá or to Dubí Hora, which is locally called The Loaves of Konojedy. Also not far away is the Ploskovice chateau, the Hořidla lookout tower and a landscape landmark - Sedlo hill.
In Úštěk you can also go for a swim in Lake Chmelař. At this body of water there are two beaches, boat and pedal boat rentals, a number of stalls and a campsite.
