Milada lake

The lake was created in the former mining pit of coal mine. It is located near Ústí nad Labem. Filling started in 2001 from a nearby reservoir Kateřina and lasted until 2010.

Milada is one of the largest lakes in the Czech Republic and its area is 252 ha. Water in the lake is very clean and the transparency reaches up to eleven meters. Thanks to that there are many various kinds of fish. Around the lake we can find many interesting and protected animals and plants.

The lake is primarily used for recreational and sports purposes, such as running, swimming or horseback riding. In 2006 cycling route no. 3009 was opened, which runs outside the territory of the quarry dump, with connections to Habří and Řehlovice.
