The quite low stone lookout tower has stood on the Kohout hill since 1908. It was built here by the Association of German Tourists. According to the original plans, a wooden lookout tower with a stone foundation was to stand here. Due to lack of funds, the wooden superstructure was replaced by a metal structure. In 2010, the lookout tower was renovated. From a height of 12 meters you will see Ještěd, Klíč in the Lužické Mountains, Strážný vrch, Ralsko or the surroundings of Česká Lípa. The lookout tower is accessible all year round.
