Stellplatz of the western style welcomes caravanners under Milešovka

Stellplatz in the village of Velemín, in the heart of the Bohemian Central Highlands, offers 8 parking spaces with electricity connection. Of course, there is clean water pumping, sewage spilling, chemical toilet spilling and garbage disposal. The pitches are spacious, ready for a longer stay with the possibility of pulling out the awning and setting up the camping furniture. Stellplatz is self-service. You can pay with cash, credit card or smartphone.

The new facilities for caravanners were opened in Velemín on Saturday, 30 April 2022 and have been in operation since Monday, 2 May 2022. The opening ceremony included a presentation of the modern facilities, demonstrations of their equipment and how to operate them. The facility is equipped with the latest technology now available for similar facilities within the Union. Payments are also possible online. Visitors can find more information on the website of the Destination Agency České středohoří www.stredohori.cz/stellplatz.

The total investment in the caravan park amounted to over CZK 2 million and was co-financed by the Ústí nad Labem Region as part of the project Accompanying Tourism Infrastructure in the České středohoří Destination. "This is a pilot project to show the way to quality facilities for caravans not only in the Central Highlands, but in the entire Ústí nad Labem Region," said regional councillor Tomáš Rieger. "At a meeting of the Ústí Region's Assembly on 25 April, other projects across the region were approved and we expect to announce the grant title Support for the Development of Tourism Infrastructure in the Ústí Region again this year," added Rieger, who is also the region's representative on the destination agency.

Jiří Řehák, Deputy Governor of Ústí nad Labem, is convinced of the necessity of similar investments: 'For the purposes of this programme, parking lots for visitors and areas for caravans and motorhomes (so-called Stellplatz), including the necessary facilities and other necessary equipment elements and related landscaping at transport nodes, especially in the vicinity of tourist attractions, are considered to be accompanying infrastructure. Another area of supported infrastructure is the construction of dormitories, shelters and shelters for emergency overnight stays in the countryside."

The Velemín stellplatz was created with significant professional and investment support and enthusiasm of the local company FINASO, which is one of the leading Czech players in the motorhome segment. "We were motivated to build a model state with everything that a customer used to travelling in Europe expects, and to show the direction for other similar projects in the Czech Central Highlands, where we are at home, where we live and where we want more visitors," said the managing director of FINASO, which operates the facility.
