Ploučnice cycling trail

Ploučnice cycling trail is marked as cycle route number 15 and runs from the source of the Ploučnice River at the foot of Ještěd to the mouth of the river to the Elbe in Děčín. The route has a total length of almost 100 kilometres and connects the Liberec and Ústí nad Labem regions. Bicycle tour - Ploučnice cycling trail to historical sites

Take Ploučnice cycling trail 15 from Děčín towards Březiny, making time to stop at the Caffé 08 roastery. Note, from here the cycle path leads to a relatively busy road (not ideal for new cyclists or families riding with children). From the village of Soutěsky, cycling trail 15 leads through Malá Veleň to Benešov nad Ploučnicí, with its Saxon Renaissance style chateau. From there it’s uphill from the Ostrý castle ruins to the villages of Františkov and Horní Police, where you can visit a pilgrimage site, the Church of the Visitation of the Virgin Mary. The church was rebuilt in the Baroque style in the 18th century, but the history of the pilgrimage site dates back two hundred years earlier. From Horní Police retrace the route back to Děčín.
