The town has 3 other parts - Kochovice, Malešov, Velešice. Hoštka gained the status of a town in 2006. At present there are approximately 1700 inhabitants.
The foundation is not clear, the first written document dates back to 1266. In the Middle Ages, Hoštka was the seat of a large number of inhabitants - its importance is also evidenced by the 14th century throat law. During the Thirty Years' War the village was badly damaged.
The Obrtka stream flows through Hoštka and flows directly into the Elbe. Like the entire Litoměřice district, the territory of this town belongs to agricultural areas with a high proportion of agricultural land and a low percentage of forestation without significant vertical division. There are several marked horse trails in the vicinity of Hoštka, which are connected to the national and European network. A facility for tourists on horse trails, including stables, called Ježkův Mlýn, has been developed as a private initiative. This initiative is constantly developing.
