Cultural weekends in May are a tradition for Děčín. The programme for this year's Town Festival will be busy again.
The festivities will kick off on Saturday 13 May, when the Young Elbe event will take place on the Smetana Embankment. A little further on, at Mariánská meadow, you will be able to enjoy the beauty of wood sculpting as part of the Sculptors of Děčín. This year's event will be themed around the Fairytale Forest, which is soon to be created under Popovický vrch. The sculptors also promise to work on the rest of the Děčín nativity scene in Křížová Street. But if you can't make it on Saturday, don't despair. The event takes place both days of the weekend this year.
On Saturday, May 13, you can also visit the Terrena Hall, where a puppet show will be performed. The traditional Historical May Market will also be held in the castle grounds all weekend.
The next weekend will bring another series of events. On 27 May, there will be an exhibition of vintage cars on Masaryk Square called Ride to Cool. On Sunday, the Day full of games and the Day not only for the elderly will break out. There will also be music at Rogal's.
The town festivities will end on 3 June with the Streetball Cup in front of the library together with the Belasek competition on Smetana Embankment.
