Chateau Friday

Renaissance summer palace on the banks of the Ohře River, later rebuilt in Baroque style and surrounded by a farm yard. Since the 12th century the centre of the Strahov monastery estate in northern Bohemia.

In 1544-57 Jan of Lobkowitz had the original fortress converted into a Renaissance chateau. The last reconstruction in the Baroque style took place in 1693 under Gundakar of Ditrichstein. A rectangular building with a jagged segmental gable was built.
In 1710, the Strahov Premonstratensians acquired the estate and owned it until 1945. After that it was used for the needs of the local government and the farm.
It has been listed since 1958.

Exposition

Guided tours of the chateau interiors, separate tours of the exhibition of paper models and the Museum of the Hussite governor Alšík Škrpa.
Exhibitions of paintings and ceramics.
Events

Summer music weekends - from June to the beginning of September live music in the chateau garden almost every Saturday (country, rock & roll, rock, blues, swing), theatre performances, events for children, wine tastings, autumn Honey Fair
Accommodation

Camping in the grounds, pitches for caravans.
In front of the castle there is a small playground for children and the Hela Inn with a wide range of food.
