The wide-open gates of sights in the Region of Podřipsko in 2018
The gates of sights are traditionally opened in Roudnice nad Labem in the tourist season.
This year's innovation will be a single ticket office for the sightseeing route of the Romanesque Castle and the Lobkowicz Chateau with wine tasting, and the Hláska Tower.
The ticket office will be located in the new Podřipsko Information and Transport Centre, whom entrance is in sight of the Castle entry, and will be a start point for visiting of the sights. The Center will open 30 April 2018 and its visitors will be able from 1 May 2018 to purchase there a unified brand new ticket to the route of the Castle and Chateau, and the Hláska tower. Tourists can visit the tour of the Castle and Chateau at weekends and public holidays from 10:00 to 17:00 in April and May and from Tuesday to Sunday and public holidays from 10:00 to 17:00 from June to August. In September and October, at weekends and public holidays from 11:00 to 15:00. The Hláska tower will be visitable from 1 May 2018 with a guide – newly at the scheduled times available at the Information Center.
Visitors of the Podřipsko region „metropolis“ can also admire the monumental Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary together with the area of former convent of Augustinian canons opened from 1 June to 30 September 2018, Monday to Friday at 10:00, 11:00, 14:00, 15:00, 16:00 and 17:00, at weekends and holidays at 10:00, 11:00, 12:00, 14:00, 15:00, 16:00 and 17:00. For panorama fans, the Kratochvíl's lookout tower is available daily from 9:00 to 19:00.
From the Kratochvíl's lookout tower there is an easy-going blue tourist sign suitable for pedestrians leading to a jewel of the Podřipsko region – the Říp Hill. By walk, there is also possible to use a red tourist sign. Cyclists can go along the way of last year marked cycle route no. 3102. On the way back, there is an option to join the Elbe Trail (cycle route no. 2, EuroVelo 7) in Roudnice nad Labem and move around to the other attractive places of the Podřipsko region up the river to Mělník or downstream in the direction to Litoměřice.
